Frequently asked questions
What FHIR version does managed Medplum support, and can it ingest HL7 or DICOM data?
Medplum runs FHIR R4. On Business and Enterprise plans we configure HL7 and DICOM ingestion pathways so data from existing clinical systems can flow into the FHIR resource store.
How do Medplum automation bots work, and which plan includes them?
Automation bots are TypeScript functions that execute on FHIR subscription events, for example triggering a workflow when a new Observation is created. Bots are available from the Business plan upwards.
What clinical data storage limits apply per plan?
Starter includes up to 10 GB of FHIR clinical data. Business scales to 100 GB with audit log exports included. Enterprise provides a dedicated database with no preset data cap.
Does Medplum expose both REST and GraphQL APIs?
Yes. Both the FHIR REST API and GraphQL query interface are available on all plans. The GraphQL API is useful for front-end apps built with Medplum's React component library.
